Online courses
Straight after payment is confirmed. You'll find the course in My courses, and we also email you a link.
Yes. Your progress is saved as you complete each lesson, on any device. When you return, you carry on from where you left off.
Each course page shows its access period. You can revisit the material at any time during that period.
It depends what you need to prove. An online course helps you evidence knowledge. It doesn't evidence skills, because nobody watches you do the work. If your role or a contract needs hands-on skills evidenced, such as installing or inspecting, book a practical course, where you're assessed in person on both. Each course page says how it's assessed and what the certificate shows.
Practical courses
Your joining instructions explain what to bring and what to wear. They are emailed when you book and again shortly before the course.
All practical course times are UK times (GMT or BST, depending on the time of year).
Employers and teams
Yes. Choose the number of places at checkout. After payment you can send each person a secure invitation from your account. You can see whether an invitation has been accepted, but not the learner's personal progress or results.
Certificates
Training is one part of it. Under the Building Safety Act, competence means having the skills, knowledge, experience and behaviours for the work you do. An online course helps you evidence knowledge. A practical course evidences knowledge and skills, because you're assessed in person. Your certificate says which you've done. Experience and behaviours come from doing the work, and your employer or client will look at those too.
Your certificate states your name, the course, the date you completed it, a unique reference and what you achieved, for example completion, attendance or passing an assessment. Certificates record training completed; they are not a regulated qualification and do not on their own demonstrate competence for a particular role.
They can check it themselves. Every certificate has a unique reference they can look up online, showing the course, the date and whether it's still current. If a contract asks for a specific standard or approval, call us on 01902 931 101 before you book and we'll tell you straight whether the course meets it.
