Fire safety training for hotels and hospitality

Hotel guests sleep in a building they've never seen before, and rely on it to wake them and show them the way out. Bedroom doors, detection and emergency lighting do that job. Rooms are refurbished on a cycle, so all three get disturbed often.

What's different in hotels and hospitality

  1. 01

    Sleeping risk

Guests are asleep and don't know the layout. Sounders have to be heard in every bedroom, and escape routes have to be obvious in the dark.

  2. 02

Every bedroom door is a fire door

Each one protects the corridor. Damaged closers, after-market locks and painted-over seals are common findings.

  3. 03

    Constant refurbishment

Rooms are refitted on a cycle, and every new cable or pipe through a wall is a chance to break compartmentation.

  4. 04

    Kitchens, bars and function rooms

Commercial kitchens and large events bring their own fire risks, and often their own suppression systems.
