Cancellations and refunds

How to cancel or move a booking, and when you get your money back.

This policy has not been approved yet

The wording on this page is a draft and must be reviewed before the site takes real bookings.

The short version

  • Online course you haven't started: full refund if you ask within 14 days of buying.
  • Practical course: full refund or a free move to another date with 15 days' notice or more. See the table below for less notice.
  • Someone else can go in your place: free, any time before the course.
  • If we cancel: you choose a full refund or another date.

How to cancel

Email us at info@ukfiresafetytraining.com, ring us on 01902 931 101 or use our contact form, and give your order reference. You don't have to give a reason. We'll confirm we've received it.

Online courses

  • If no lesson has been started on a place, we'll refund it in full if you ask within 14 days of buying. This applies to business customers as well as consumers, and to each place in a team order.
  • Once a lesson has been started on a place, that place can't be refunded, unless the course is faulty or not as described.
  • When you buy, you ask for immediate access and agree that you lose your right to cancel once a lesson is started. That's what the law allows for digital content.

Practical courses

Notice before the course startsWhat you can have
15 days or moreA full refund, or a free move to another date
14 days or lessNo refund. We may move you to another date, at our discretion. You can still send someone in your place.
Not attendingNo refund.
  • Sending someone else. You can replace a learner with someone else at no charge at any time before the course. Just give us their name.
  • Moving to another date. The new date must be within 12 months of the original one.
  • On-site training. The cancellation terms in your quote apply. If the quote doesn't set any, this table does.
  • If you're a consumer, your legal right to cancel (below) applies as well, and you can use whichever gives you more.

Your legal right to cancel (consumers)

If you buy for yourself rather than for a business, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you 14 days from the day the contract is made to cancel without giving a reason.

  • Practical courses: if you cancel within those 14 days, and before the course has taken place, we refund you in full. If the course starts within 14 days of booking, we'll ask you at checkout to confirm you want it to go ahead within this period. Once it has taken place, you can no longer cancel it. If you cancel part-way through a course that runs over more than one day, you pay only for the days already delivered.
  • Online courses: the right to cancel ends once a lesson is started, because you asked for immediate access and agreed to this when you bought.

To cancel, tell us clearly, as above. You can use the form below, but you don't have to.

Model cancellation form

To UK Fire Door Training Ltd, Unit 8 Aspley Close, Four Ashes, Wolverhampton WV10 7DE. I give notice that I cancel my contract for the following training: [course and date]. Ordered on: [date]. Order reference: [reference]. Name: [your name]. Address: [your address]. Date: [today's date].

If we cancel or change a course

  • If we have to cancel a practical course, for example because the trainer is ill or there aren't enough bookings, we'll tell you as soon as we can. You choose a full refund or another date.
  • We recommend booking travel and accommodation that you can change or cancel. Our terms and conditions set out what else we're responsible for.
  • If we withdraw an online course before your access ends, we'll move you to an equivalent course or refund the unused part of your access.

How refunds are paid

  • We refund within 14 days of agreeing the refund, or of receiving your cancellation if you're using your legal right to cancel.
  • Card payments are refunded to the card you paid with.
  • If you were invoiced, we cancel or credit the invoice and refund anything you've already paid.
