Fire safety training for schools and education

Schools take a beating. Fire doors get pushed hundreds of times a day, wedged open in summer and damaged faster than in most buildings. Many sites mix old and new blocks, and most stand empty overnight, when arson is a real risk. These courses are for the people who keep the fire safety working.

What's different in schools and education

  1. 01

    Doors wear out fast

Heavy traffic loosens hinges, damages closers and wears out seals. Checks that suit an office are often too far apart for a school corridor.

  2. 02

    Mixed estates

A Victorian main building, a 1970s block and a new extension can share one site and one alarm system. Knowing what each part was built to matters.

  3. 03

    Empty at night

Arson causes a large share of school fires. Detection, alarm monitoring and compartmentation have to work when nobody is there.

  4. 04

    Responsibility is often shared

It can sit with a head, a multi-academy trust or a local authority. Clear records of who checked what, and when, protect everyone.
