Terms and conditions

The terms that apply when you buy training from us.

This policy has not been approved yet

The wording on this page is a draft and must be reviewed before the site takes real bookings.

1. Who we are

UK Fire Safety Training is a trading name of UK Fire Door Training Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13350267, VAT number GB383408290). Our address is Unit 8 Aspley Close, Four Ashes, Wolverhampton WV10 7DE. You can email us at info@ukfiresafetytraining.com, ring us on 01902 931 101 or use our contact form.

"We", "us" and "our" mean UK Fire Door Training Ltd. "You" means the person or organisation buying from us. A "learner" is the person who takes the course.

2. About these terms

These terms apply to every online course, practical course and on-site training we sell, whether you buy on this website, accept a quote or order on account. Our cancellations and refunds policy and privacy notice form part of them.

Some rights in these terms are for consumers only, meaning people buying for themselves rather than for a business. We say where. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

3. Your contract with us

  • Paying online: the contract starts when we email to confirm your order.
  • Quotes and orders on account: the contract starts when you accept the quote or we confirm the order.
  • We can turn down an order, for example if a course has been withdrawn or a price is plainly wrong. If we do, we refund anything you've paid in full.

4. Prices and payment

  • Prices are in pounds sterling. We show them including VAT at 20% unless you switch to prices without VAT. The total at checkout is what you pay.
  • Card payments are taken by Stripe on its secure page. We never see or store your card details.
  • Invoices for orders on account are due within the payment terms shown on the invoice. If an invoice is overdue we can hold the places on it until it's paid. Business customers may be charged interest and compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
  • Team prices and discount codes can't be combined. You get whichever is better.
  • If we've made an obvious pricing mistake, we'll tell you before going ahead. You can pay the right price or cancel for a full refund.

5. Online courses

  • Access. Each place gives one learner 12 months' access, starting when the place is given to them. When access ends the lessons close. Any certificate already earned stays valid and can still be downloaded.
  • One learner per place. Don't share sign-in details or let anyone else take an assessment for you. If that happens we can withdraw the place and any certificate earned through it, without a refund.
  • Assessment. To pass, a learner must reach the pass mark in the final assessment, within the number of attempts shown on the course.
  • What you need. An up-to-date web browser and an internet connection. We work hard to keep the learning area running, but we can't promise it will never be unavailable.
  • Updates. We update courses to keep them accurate and current. An update never shortens a learner's access.
  • Using the content. Each place gives the learner a personal licence to use the course for their own training. The content belongs to us or the people we license it from. Don't copy, record, share or resell it.

6. Practical courses

  • We send joining instructions before the course. Please arrive on time. If a learner arrives very late, we may not be able to let them join.
  • Learners must follow the trainer's instructions, wear any protective equipment we ask them to bring, and keep to the venue's safety rules. We can ask anyone who acts unsafely or abusively to leave, without a refund.
  • Tell us when you book about any health condition, disability or other need that affects how a learner takes part, so we can make reasonable adjustments.
  • Learners are assessed in person. The result depends on what they show on the day, so we can't promise a pass.
  • We may change the trainer or, if we have to, the venue. If a venue change means a learner can't attend, you can have a full refund or another date.

7. On-site training

The quote sets out what's included and what you provide, such as a suitable room, access to the work area and a site induction. If we can't deliver the training because something agreed in the quote isn't in place on the day, we'll treat it as a cancellation by you on that day under our cancellations and refunds policy.

8. Places bought for other people

  • If you buy places for other people, you must give us accurate details for each learner and have their permission to share them with us.
  • When a place comes from your team, the learner agrees to it when they accept the invitation. Your team can then see their progress, results and certificates for the courses it gave them. A learner can leave a team at any time.
  • Certificates are the learner's. They stay valid if the learner leaves your team, and your team keeps the record of certificates earned while they were a member.

9. Certificates

  • A learner who passes gets a certificate with a unique reference. Anyone can check it on our certificate check.
  • A certificate shows the learner passed our assessment on that date. On its own it doesn't prove someone is competent. Competence also takes skills, experience and behaviours, and it is for an employer or client to judge.
  • We can withdraw a certificate that was obtained dishonestly or issued by mistake. The certificate check will then show it as withdrawn.
  • Where a certificate has a refresher date, we email a reminder before it.

10. Cancelling

Our cancellations and refunds policy explains how to cancel, when you get your money back, and your legal 14-day right to cancel if you're a consumer.

11. If something isn't right

We provide our training with reasonable care and skill, and the courses will be as described. If something isn't right, tell us and we'll put it right. If we can't, we'll refund some or all of what you paid.

If you're a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 also gives you legal rights. Training must be provided with reasonable care and skill, and an online course must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Citizens Advice can explain these rights.

12. Our responsibility to you

  • Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
  • Consumers: we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable.
  • Business customers: we're not responsible for loss of profit, revenue, business or contracts, or for any indirect loss. Our total responsibility for any order is limited to the price paid for the training concerned.
  • Training doesn't transfer responsibility for anyone's work. Each learner and employer remains responsible for the work they do and for meeting the standards and regulations that apply to it.

13. Your account

Keep your account details accurate and your password to yourself. We can suspend an account that's being misused, for example one being shared or used to take assessments for someone else.

14. Complaints

If you're unhappy with anything, email us at info@ukfiresafetytraining.com, ring us on 01902 931 101 or use our contact form. A person will deal with it.

15. Changes and the law

  • We may update these terms. The version that applied when you placed an order applies to that order.
  • If a court decides part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.

These terms were last updated on 20 October 2026.
